The EliteSTOR ES445X6R is a 4U 6G based SAS expander expansion enclosure that fit 45 drives in only 4U space. Hosting twenty-four (24) in the front and twenty-one (21) at the back, this high density design allow increase your storage foot print, while saving your valuable rack space. Build with dual SAS expander configuration, server connecting to ES445X6R can expands using a standard or high availability configuration. Design with green computing in mind, ES445X6R features energy efficient redundant 1620W Platinum Level power supply and temperature control cooling fan. Supporting Areca, ATTO, Dell, Intel and LSI RAID controller card or non-RAID host bus adapter HBA, ES445X6R support hardware RAID using RAID controller card, or software, operating system based disk protection scheme using HBA. System status can be monitor using in-band SES from the RAID or HBA controller card. Build-in expansion ports for storage expansion, as well as supporting SAS and SATA (single path mode only), ES445X6R will be an ideal solution for any storage demanding requirements. 

Note: Sans Digital recommends the use of enterprise hard drives when in use with any RAID controller applications. Standard desktop or green desktop drive may not be supported and may compromise RAID system stability and performance.   • Support Industry Standard SGPIO and SES - Serial General Purpose Input/Output (SGPIO) is utilized to provide the hard drives health & enclosure real-time information via the mini-SAS connection cable to the HBA and RAID controller without additional serial cable.
  • Scalability - Build-in storage expansion port for expansion using ES328X6R.
  • Wide Range RAID Adapters Support - Compatible with Areca, ATTO, Dell Perc Controller, LSI SAS MegaRAID and Intel SAS RAID.
  • Multi-purposes - Supports both SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) and SATA hard drives to meet the requirements of various application with different price/performance characteristics. Cost-effective SATA drives could be used for capacity orientated storage such as disk-to-disk backup, data-archiving, and digital video editing. Enterprise level SAS drives could be utilized for I/O intensive applications such as transactional databases.
  • Platinum Level High - efficiency Redundant Power Supply - Platinum level high-efficiency 1620W hot-swappable redundant power supply is included for protection against power failure. Power supply status can be easily monitored by the status LED and audible alarm alert.
  • All accessories are included - Mini-SAS cable, cooling fan, tray modules and quick release, tool-less mounting rail are included. By connecting to a SAS controller and hard drives will instantly increase the storage space.
